Synopsis
Autumn 1936. David, a young unemployed communist, leaves Liverpool to join the fight against fascism at the start of the Spanish Civil War. He joins the International section of the Republican Militia on the Aragon front, where he will meet Bernard, Lawrence, Coogan, Blanca, Maite… militiamen like him from all over Europe and the United States. David is injured and has to be hospitalized in Barcelona. In the city, communists and anarchists resolve their own internal war. Torn between loyalty to his party and his love for Blanca, David returns to the top to fight for the survival of his revolutionary dream.
